We were asked by our client to come up with a sculptural boat design with some wording on the side.
We searched and found an oak trunk which we could carve into the shape of the boat and then added a flat deck to the back. We then carved a sentence into the oak which the client had requested, which is “Evolving from the sea we learn, and yearn forever our return” Along with a request for passers by to “rest awhile” and then with directions to the Cobb in Lyme Regis in one direction and Sidmouth in the other. The sculpture resides on a small green on the hill out of Lyme Regis overlooking the beautiful Jurassic coast line.
