This split sweet chestnut wooden garden gate was our first! It complimented the sagging thatched roof and bulging flint walls of the ancient farm buildings. The gate was further set by the use of large hand finished chestnut posts.
Off the shelf hinges and latch were used for this gate, however, we now tend to get hinges and latches made by our local blacksmith. We deliver the gates to him and he hand forges the hinges to follow the natural curves of the gates.
