Ed Brooks Furniture was commissioned to design and make a large oak garden dining table having been contacted by the owners of Highgrange via the fantastic garden designer Anna Wardrop.
Between them they had designed a wonderful woodland space for outdoor dining including an outdoor kitchen. They needed a large dining table, and suggested using the fallen oak tree next to it! Sounds easy hey!?
We designed a simple trestle style table 5 metres long and wooden benches for each side all from the oak. The oak tree was perfect for this, and even left a section which we used as the outdoor bar counter.
This was one of the most enjoyable projects I have worked on. The client were perfect with a clear idea of what they wanted but fluid enough to allow ideas to be shared. The garden designer Anna not only extremely knowledgeable and a great designer, but easy to work with getting the best out of us. My Dad worked with me on this and was amazing giving his wealth of experience to the exact design of the table etc. Down to the gardening company next door Tony Benger Landscaping who rented their lifting equipment very reasonably and were very accommodating with all aspects.
