Here we used split Sweet Chestnut from the local farm to create gates and benches to complement the sagging roofs and crumbling flint walls of the 16th Century farmhouse and outbuildings. A local blacksmith made some of the fittings. This was the first project Ed Brooks undertook as a newly qualified landscape architect, but also launched Ed Brooks Furniture due to in particular the pedestrian gate you see here, made by Ed’s father David Brooks.
