Oak Lych Gate
The City of London asked us to design, construct and install a Lych style gate to allowing walkers protection from the elements and access to an area of Epping Forest which is undergoing regeneration. We used the fork of a sweet chestnut tree trunk to construct the shape of the roof. Oak rafters were then used to span the two, and were used cedar shingles for the roof. We also incorporated two seats into the design.
