These bespoke split sweet chestnut garden gates were designed to create a distinctive, natural entrance with lasting strength and character. The sweet chestnut was sourced from our own woodland, then shaped to preserve the timber’s flowing grain and individual form. Slender copper metalwork spindles introduce a warm contrast and add a refined decorative detail to the rustic hardwood construction.
The combination of cleft sweet chestnut and copper gives these gates an organic yet carefully considered appearance. Natural curves, grain and texture make every gate unique, while the copper uprights bring rhythm and definition to the design. Made as a bespoke commission, the gates sit comfortably within a country garden, landscaped boundary or character property where a standard manufactured gate would feel out of place.
